On February 1, 2023, FEMA released an advisory detailing CY 2023 consumer price index (CPI) adjustments. These adjustments will impact the statewide per capita impact indicator for recommending cost share adjustments for major disasters.
According to the advisory, the statewide per capita indicator for any major disaster declared on or after January 1, 2023, through December 31,2023, is $173 per capita of the state or tribal population.
These adjustments were made based on an increase of 6.5% in CPI for all urban consumers for CY 2022 released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor on January 12, 2023.
